Genoa organizes the last public meeting “Towards a creative city…”
21.05.2013
The project "Creative Cities" end is scheduled for May 31.
But it is not the time to conclude but start the further discussion.
We wanted to leave the city, and the main actors that animate the creative scene, the opportunity to develop ideas, proposals and arguments of at least some of the major challenges to go in the direction of the creative city. We reflected on that on Tuesday, May 14, at Palazzo Ducale (Sala Munizioniere): "Towards a creative city. Rethinking the city on the creative economy."
We discussed contemporary art, cultural politics, subjectivity and forms of expression and ways to develop the creative industry with Ilaria Bonacossa (curator of the exhibition program of the Museum of Contemporary Art Villa Croce), Mimma Gallina (theatrical organizer and founder of Ateatro), Lisa Word (curator of AINPUT, Turin), Philippe Foulqié (founder of the Friche de la Belle de Mai in Marseille: 45,000 sqm. spaces for artistic and cultural projects), Michele Dantini (art critic and lecturer at the University of Eastern Piedmont), Claudio Bocci (Federculture), Cesare Viel (artist at international level and teacher at Ligurian Academy), Joseph Grima (director of Domus) and Roberta Comunian (Italian researcher working at King's College London and expert in "creative cities").
