Creative Cities workshop: The Economy of Us
31.01.2012
What is “l’economia del noi” (The Economy of Us)? What are the new economical communities based on shared ties of solidarity and participation? What is the role of the Web in the development of the “economy of relationship”? What impact does this new way to conceive the economics relationship have on the development and the professionalisms of the Creative Industries?
We have talked about it on January 31st with Roberta Carlini (www.economiadelnoi.it) and Angelo Rindone (www.produzionidalbasso.it).
Enhancement of capital relations, prevalence of the logic of gift and the centrality of the common good: the fact that these three categories have acquired a growing importance is due not only to the good intentions that a civil society puts in but it is a change that is linked to structural changes in our way of producing and living: changes induced by the technological revolution and its impact on labour and production cycle. We define “The Economy of Us” as a collection of experiences based on social ties, in which groups of people come into this report and seek community solutions to economic problems, inspired by the principles of reciprocity, solidarity, social values, ideals, ethical or religious. Outside the exclusive logic of homo economicus, often against it, but inside the market.
Roberta Carlini (journalist and essayist) has written a book about this theme called “Economia del noi”. A journey throughout Italy to find forms of share-based economies that are increasingly opposed to the policy based on the cult of individuality. About people who search common solutions to common problems, who survive the crisis with the resources of solidarity, giving the basis of a new economy.
