On Thursday, 14 April 2011, a conference on the significance and the potentials of cultural and creative industries in the development of European cities and regions entitled Creative Cities: Possibilities, Policies and Places took place at the Ljubljana Castle. The conference had combined the ambitions of two European projects in which the City of Ljubljana and the entire Ljubljana urban region have been actively cooperating: Creative Cities and Second Chance. The introductory speakers were the distinguished guests Dr. Tom Fleming and Prof. Dr. Klaus R. Kunzmann.  In the framework of the conference a thematic panel discussion with both speakers and leading Slovenian decision makers was organised.
